Job Overview:
The Regional Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing warehouse operations across multiple locations within a designated region. The role includes strategic planning, managing regional staff, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations, and driving operational excellence to meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
Lead generation and follow up. Identify and approach potential clients to generate new business.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Work closely with the marketing teams to align sales strategies with business goals.
Prepare and deliver presentations and proposals to prospective clients.
Provide feedback to the management team on market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities to enhance the company's market position.
Attend industry events and networking sessions to build a strong professional network.
Vendor Development and Management:
Identify and evaluate potential vendors based on quality, cost, and reliability.
Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to secure the best possible deals.
Ensure that all agreements comply with company policies and regulations.
Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with contract terms and deliverables.
Conduct regular performance reviews and audits of vendors. Obtain & evaluate competitive quotes for bringing cost savings.
Strategic Planning and Execution:
Develop and implement regional strategies to enhance warehouse efficiency and effectiveness.
Align regional warehouse operations with overall company goals and objectives.
Monitor industry trends and adapt strategies to meet changing market demands.
Operational Management:
Oversee daily operations of multiple warehouses, ensuring smooth and efficient workflows.
Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) across all facilities.
Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify and address operational issues.
Personnel Management:
Lead and mentor warehouse managers and staff across the region.
Develop and implement training programs to enhance staff skills and performance.
Manage staffing levels, including recruitment, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Inventory and Supply Chain Management:
Oversee inventory management practices to ensure accurate stock levels and timely replenishment.
Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to optimize the supply chain and reduce lead times.
Implement inventory control measures to minimize discrepancies and losses.
Financial Management:
Develop and manage budgets for warehouse operations within the region.
Monitor expenses and implement cost-saving measures without compromising operational efficiency.
Conduct financial analyses and prepare reports on regional performance.
Compliance and Safety:
Ensure all warehouses comply with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards.
Conduct regular safety audits and address any compliance issues.
Implement safety training programs and ensure adherence to best practices.
Technology and Systems:
Oversee the use of warehouse management systems (WMS)/SAP and other technology solutions.
Stay informed about technological advancements and recommend system upgrades or changes.
Ensure effective use of technology to streamline operations and improve accuracy.
Communication and Collaboration:
Serve as the primary point of contact between regional warehouses and corporate headquarters.
Foster effective communication and collaboration among warehouse managers and other departments.
Address and resolve any operational challenges or issues promptly.
Customer Service and Satisfaction:
Ensure that warehouse operations meet customer service standards and expectations.
Address any customer-related issues or complaints and implement corrective actions.
Qualificaton :-
Education:
Any Bachelor’s degree or above, Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional) are advantageous.
Age:
Below 45 Years
Languages Known:
English, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil & Malayalam
Skills:
Strong leadership and people management abilities.
Excellent strategic planning and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS)/SAP/ERP/Other and data analysis.
In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions:
Location: Primarily based in a regional office, with frequent travel to various warehouse sites within the region.
Hours: Full-time position, with potential for extended hours or travel as needed to meet operational demands.
Experience :-
About 10 years of extensive experience in warehouse management or supply chain operations, in a leadership role. Experience in 3PL companies overseeing multiple locations will be an added advantage.
